Rise

Exciting! 8D A new style that I really wanted to try... just that conceptual look is so appealing. x3 Sorry for the Ruso-spam. >>; Someone's not helping.

I listened to a lot of Fate/Stay Night and Summer Wars music while drawing this... in particular any of the Unlimited Blade Works themes, and majorly, "Rise" by Suwabe Junichi. Fight-y music, mm... gah hungry.

Explored a bunch of new things... good fun. I'm pretty happy with this one, even if it is a product of procrastination.

Edit: Just thought I'd add a little about the process...

I don't have anything that can pose for me flexibly - I have a wooden mannequin but it just doesn't bend as much as I'd like. I used a 3D model that I rigged up two weeks ago - it was a horrible and rushed rig - but it did the job and I posed it into the general stance that I wanted. Took a screenshot, pasted it into Photoshop, and used that as a reference. Mind you, that model is a stickman, so I had to flesh out the proportions myself.

I think I'll use 3D for posing a lot more now that I realize how useful it is.
